Let Me Be Me..

Don't wanna be a cradle of your pity,
Don't want you to notice me,
Don't want your fake sympathy,
Leave me alone, alone with me.

Just so tired of this artificial world,
Plastic feelings that everyday unfurl.
Fake smiles, fake tears so ruthlessly hurled,
While the real despise underneath swirls.

Trapped inside your filthy game,
Your rules, your laws, your fame,
Living your life, just so lame,
Suppressing my identity maim.

Just want to escape this life so frail,
I want me to leave behind a trail,
To soar high and away just sail,
Away to my world - My Fairytale!

Let me smile, let me live,
Let me know how to take love and how to give,
Let my soul sing, give me a reason to be,
Just for this once, Let me be me...

A Single Tear

My favorite so far...
A wild laugh or a fear small,
A single tear says it all…
The emotions of a mother holding her child,
His first sight and her smile mild,
And the speck of water in her eyes,
Looking at a face where her world lies.
Her boundless love for the one small,
A single tear says it all.
The agony of a widow for her dead soul mate,
The curse she puts on her ill fate,
The farewell of the sweet days they shared,
The days they laughed, they cried, they cared.
The pain of the widow, her hopes small,
A single tear says it all.
The feelings of the mother of a bride,
Her never-ending happiness and the painful tide,
On seeing her daughter go away,
Somewhere far, amidst the swaying may.
Her emotions both big and small,
A single tear says it all.
The anxiety of a player playing his sport,
Giving his losing side, the full support.
The fear of a kid from an unknown shadow,
Spying on him from a faraway meadow.
The anticipation of the big man and fear of the small,
A single tear says it all.
The despair of a soldier facing defeat.
The feeling of the two lovers dying to meet.
A wild laugh or a fear small,
A single tear says it all.

Teenager

I got a prize for this one! :D

The essence of childhood frost,
The innocence not completely lost,
And yet a hint of maturity is seen,
That’s what being a teenager means.
The life then seems, a roller-coaster ride,
No rules to follow, no laws to abide.
When the world seems the slave, and I am the queen,
That’s what being a teenager means.
And sometimes, life, it seems an illusion,
The ups and downs, and eternal confusion,
When no one comprehends in the world so mean,
That’s what being a teenager means.
The new doors open, while some other close,
The hope seems small. On the path that I chose
I stumble, I fall and get up clean,
That’s what being a teenager means.
Many examples to follow, many others to set,
Some lessons to be learnt, and some miseries to forget,
The best age in life, among umpteen,
That’s what being a teenager means..

Waves

I Wrote this one for my English teacher when I was 13! :)

Sometime back, I was at the shore,
Life was gloomy and mind insecure,
I blamed and cursed everyone around,
I stamped my foot, I kicked the ground.
A cold wave of water washed my feet,
I stared ahead and my heart skipped a beat.
Ahead of my were the endless waves,
Rising high, Forming huge shallow caves.
They gloriously glittered under the evening star,
Like diamonds engraved on an oceanic tower.
They jumped and danced like a tipsy man,
Enjoying all through their short lifespan.
This gave me lots and lots of hope,
And brought along the courage to cope.
Life was never more beautiful for me,
’Cause now I had a Reason To Be.

The Haunted House

This was my first ever poem: I wrote it when i was 11, back in 6th grade. Its pretty stupid, but I love it all the same! :)

There is a Haunted house,
Full of dangerous cats and a mouse.
There are witches and wizards,
And to cook there are hundreds of lizards!
There are ghosts of sailors,
Fishermen and tailors,
There are webs of spiders,
And alive statues of horse riders.
To welcome there are many bats,
Who look like wings on rats.
And then there are the Egyptian mummies,
Who have very fat tummies.
The souls of our ancestors,
Live with their stupid sisters.
There are annual functions of the ghosts,
And also elections to elect the hosts.
George wishes that Osama the king of terror,
Should die and go to the house of horror.
As the house was haunted,
So it was wanted,
For the amount of Rs. 5 lacs,
Without giving any tax.
In greed of money,
And milk and honey,
People forgot about their lives,
And children and wives.
Then they all died,
And were cooked and fried,
From the souls to the ghosts are there,
When you die, once do visit here..!!
